What is Telepractice?
Telepractice, also known as teletherapy or telehealth, refers to the use of technology to connect a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a client to provide speech and language serivces from a distance. Speech-Language Pathologists have used telepractice for decades prior to COVID-19. Research shows that telepractice is just as effective as in person treatment.
What equipment is required?
High speech internet connection (wired or wireless)
Computer or tablet with a webcam and microphone
Headset with an attached microphone is not required but may be used to improve the audio quality. Headphones may also help to decrease distraction by reducing environmental noise.
Why choose telepractice
Telepractice is convenient! It allows for more flexibility with scheduling and eliminates the drive time. Telepractice allows for your child to be seen in the comfort of his or her own home.
